Celine Dion stopped by The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon to play “Wheel of Musical Impressions” with Fallon. The game occurred after she expressed joy for Ariana Grande’s famous impression of Dion.
Dion appeared a bit nervous at the beginning of the game where she would have to perform a random song in the style of a random artist. She hit the button and had to perform “Frère Jacques” in the style of her friend Cher. Dion hit Cher’s deep warble while also adding a bit of sass to the simple song’s lyrics before actually singing a few lines from Cher’s hit “Believe.”
Fallon was given Michael Jackson and performed “One Dance,” and Dion riffed a bit as Jackson, remixing “Smooth Criminal” to make it about Fallon. Later the host sang “C is for Cookie” in the style of Johnny Cash, which was sandwiched between Dion’s excellent Rihanna twerk while imitating the Barbadian singer on “Row, Row, Row Your Boat” as well as an anthemic take on Sia singing “Hush, Little Baby.” Dion even flipped her hair over her face for the full Sia transformation.
Earlier in the show, Dion revealed how she got to the point where she has been performing in Las Vegas for most of her eldest son’s life. The singer was initially only supposed to do a three-week run before it was expanded out for over a decade. She also admitted that she never wanted to record her biggest hit “My Heart Will Go On” for Titanic soundtrack because of how rarely she does work for film and television.
